Gujarat BJP Chief Won Navsari Seat Through Voter Fraud, Claims Congress

Vote Chori Gujarat became the latest flashpoint in the ongoing political battle. On Saturday, Congress President Amit Chavda held a press conference, alleging large-scale voter fraud in Gujarat. He claimed that 30,000 fake voters were registered in Navsari—Lok Sabha seat of the BJP state president. According to Chavda, this fraudulent activity helped the BJP secure the seat unfairly.

Chavda said his team found 30,000 fake or duplicate voters in the Choryasi Assembly area, which falls under Patil’s constituency. He warned that if similar scrutiny covered the entire state, fraudulent entries could reach 62 lakh

He added that issues such as repeated names, bogus EPIC card numbers, minor spelling differences, and address alterations betray a deeper problem. According to Chavda, this manipulation threatens democracy’s integrity 

Chavda said, “Vote Chori Gujarat is not just a slogan—it is democracy unraveling.” He pledged to launch a door-to-door verification campaign and present evidence to the Election Commission and Parliament.

BJP candidate CR Patil received a total of 10,31,065 votes, while Congress candidate N. Desai secured 2,57,514 votes. With this massive lead, Patil won the Navsari Lok Sabha seat by a record margin of 7,73,551 votes.

Vote Fraud Allegations in Navsari

Congress Gujarat chief Amit Chavda exposed alleged vote fraud in Navsari. He claimed 30,000 fake voters existed in the list on the BJP chief’s seat. Chavda said one person voting multiple times belied free and fair polls.

In the Choryasi Assembly area, part of Navsari, officials reviewed roughly 40% of the 6.09 lakh voters. They found fake votes across many booths. Chavda estimated a full audit could reveal over 75,000 fraudulent entries. He questioned whether this explained the BJP’s record victory margin.

Five Common Methods of Vote Fraud

Chavda explained five tactics used to manipulate votes. First, exact duplicates inflated voter rolls. Second, spelling errors altered entries. Third, individuals had multiple EPIC numbers. Fourth, language differences masked duplicate names. Fifth, changing addresses duplicated voters. He said CCTV analysis and Election Commission data confirmed these anomalies.

Amit Chavda, Congress state president, claims that if officials audit all 50.6 million voters in Gujarat, they could uncover 6.2 million fake entries. He implied that these fabricated votes are the real reason behind BJP leaders’ record-breaking wins. Chavda emphasized that every Gujarati citizen holds the responsibility to safeguard democracy.

To address the issue, Congress has announced a public awareness drive starting with a “Voter Rights National Assembly” on August 31. He expects every state-level Congress leader and worker to join the rally. Chavda promised that, well before the 2027 elections, volunteers will visit every household to inspect voter lists. They’ll also compile suspicious entries and submit them to the Election Commission and relevant authorities.

Early Audit Reveals 12.3% Fake Voter Ratio

So far, preliminary verification in the Choryasi Assembly shows that 12.3% of the entries are fake. Chavda warned that, across Gujarat, audits would likely expose manifold cases of vote fraud. He accused the BJP of pressuring the Election Commission to rely on affidavits—a method he calls a tactic to conceal irregularities.
