Kejriwal shown black flags and pelted with stones in New Delhi assembly constituency

Violence has entered the Delhi elections on Saturday. Aam Aadmi Party on Saturday alleged that during election campaign in New Delhi area, supporters of BJP candidate Pravesh Verma showed black flags to Kejriwal and threw stones at his car. On the other hand, Pravesh Verma alleged that Kejriwal’s vehicle crushed three youths. In which they got injured. One’s leg was broken. Delhi Police has denied the attack on Kejriwal’s vehicle. Videos have been released by AAP and BJP.
AAP alleged that an attempt was made to disrupt AAP’s campaign by throwing stones at Kejriwal’s car. At the same time, BJP MP Parvesh Verma accused Kejriwal of crushing two people with his car during campaigning. AAP released a video showing this incident, in which it was claimed that a stone can be seen falling on Kejriwal’s vehicle.

The video also showed individuals waving black flags near the convoy, which the AAP claimed was part of a deliberate attempt to disrupt the campaign. Minutes after the AAP’s claims, BJP MP Parvesh Verma shared a video alleging that Arvind Kejriwal’s convoy crushed two people during campaigning in the New Delhi constituency.
The Centre had expressed apprehension
Meanwhile, AAP’s national spokesperson Priyanka Kakkar said- “BJP people are now expressing their frustration in this way. Recently, the Home Ministry had said that Arvind Kejriwal is in danger. It should have also said that this is a threat from BJP people. Now Parvesh Verma has said that you should be completely disappointed… We will definitely take whatever legal measures are available. But this is not a small matter. Arvind Kejriwal ji is one of the most popular leaders of the country, it is not a good thing to play with his security.”
Delhi Police’s denial
Delhi Police sources have denied AAP’s claims and said that “there was no attack”. According to sources, “Arvind Kejriwal was holding a public meeting at Lal Bahadur Sadan when some BJP workers reached there to ask questions. This led to sloganeering from both sides. The police intervened and dispersed both groups of people to control the situation.”
Let us tell you that former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is contesting from New Delhi constituency, while Congress has fielded Sandeep Dixit, son of late Sheila Dixit, and BJP has fielded former MP and son of former Chief Minister Sahib Singh Verma from West Delhi. Voting for 70 assembly seats of Delhi is on February 5. The results will come on February 8.
