Citing a White House official, Collins said that right after the heated exchange with the Ukrainian President, Trump consulted key members of his team, including US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and National Security Advisor Mike Waltz, to assess the situation. During this meeting, Trump concluded that Zelensky was “in no position to negotiate.” Trump then instructed Rubio and Waltz to convey the message that “it is time for Zelensky to leave the White House.” After that, the joint press conference was also canceled.
