More than a hundred houses were set on fire in the Dalit settlement of Krishna Nagar Tola in Dadour village of Fassil police station area in Bihar’s Nawada district. This entire settlement is of Dalits. In which the Mahadalit population is more.

Condemning the incident, RJD leader Tejaswi Yadav said – Maha Jungle Raj! Great Demon King! Maha Rakshas Raj! More than 100 houses of Dalits set on fire in Nawada. Bihar is on fire under the rule of Narendra Modi and Nitish Kumar. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is careless, NDA allies are unaware! The poor are burnt, die – what do they care? Atrocities against Dalits will not be tolerated.
Dalits in Nawada also alleged that several people were beaten up and many injured in the attack. The number of goons was quite high. They also misbehaved with women and elderly people.
Upon receiving the information, senior officials including Nawada Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Anoj Kumar and Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) Akhilesh Prasad reached the spot along with police force to handle the situation. Fire brigade vehicles are at the spot and are engaged in dousing the fire. Bihar Police has detained several suspects and is conducting raids to nab others involved in this.
Priyanka Gandhi also spoke
Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has also condemned the incident. Priyanka said- The incident of burning more than 80 houses of Mahadalits in Nawada is extremely horrific and condemnable. Firing dozens of rounds and creating terror on such a large scale and making people homeless shows that the law and order in the state has completely collapsed. The common rural-poor are forced to live in the shadow of insecurity and fear. I demand from the state government that strict action should be taken against the bullies who do such injustice and all the victims should be properly rehabilitated.
