BJP spent Rs 30 crore on enhancing Modi’s image: Google data report
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has put full force into its online advertising. Online advertising requires a lot of money. The BJP has spent Rs 29.7 crore in the last 30 days, mainly targeting North Indian states, according to Google Ads Transparency Center data.
Google’s ad library contains data from February 20, 2019. Since then, 73,246 advertisements worth ₹206.2 crore have been placed. BJP’s share in this advertising expenditure is about 24%, which is around Rs 50 crore, while DMK’s share is Rs 21.3 crore, or 10.38%. Congress has spent ₹14.6 crore on Google ads since 2019. It is important to mention here that the expenditure on advertisements made by BJP and other parties on Meta platforms i.e. Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp is separate.
Congress spokesperson Supriya Shrinet also raised the issue of Google advertisements in the press conference on Tuesday. Supriya said- Wherever you look on the internet, PM Modi is visible. This is the magic of BJP’s advertisements, because it is spending money like water. Last month, BJP spent Rs 22 crore on Google video ads, which were seen by crores of voters across the country.
