Now, Prime Minister Modi has also spoken on shackles and handcuffs. Amidst the uproar over Indians being sent from America in an inhumane manner, tied in chains and handcuffs like criminals, Prime Minister Modi has reminded of the handcuffs and shackles of the Emergency. The Prime Minister said, ‘During the Emergency, many great men of the country, including George Fernandes, were handcuffed and tied with chains. Members of Parliament, eminent leaders of the country were tied with handcuffs and chains.’
In Rajyasabha When PM Modi was speaking, he took names from Emergency to Nehru and alleged that freedom of expression was suppressed. In his speech, PM Modi said that the constitution makers should have been respected, inspiration should have been taken from them, but Congress had shattered the sentiments of the constitution makers immediately after independence. He alleged, ‘After independence, when there was no elected government in the country and there was a temporary arrangement till the elections, the gentlemen who were sitting in it, amended the constitution as soon as they came. They crushed the freedom of speech, put a check on newspapers, press. This was a complete disrespect to the spirit of the constitution.’ The Prime Minister attacked Congress by taking the name of Kishore Kumar. He said, ‘Kishore Kumar ji refused to sing for Congress. For this one crime, all the songs of Kishore Kumar were banned on Akashvani. During the emergency, many great men of the country, including George Fernandes, were handcuffed and tied in chains. Members of Parliament and eminent leaders of the country were tied in handcuffs and chains. Let us tell you that handcuffs and chains are in the headlines. Actually, a US military plane carrying 104 illegal Indian immigrants reached Amritsar on Wednesday afternoon. Along with this, photos of some people with handcuffs in their hands and chains on their feet went viral on social media. Later, an American official posted a video. The deported people told their plight and said that they were brought in shackles and handcuffs by a military plane. They had to struggle for 40 hours even to go to the bathroom. The opposition criticized the Modi government for this inhuman situation.
There was uproar in both the houses of Parliament on Thursday on the issue of deportation of illegal Indian immigrants from the US. Both the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha had to be adjourned till noon.
PM said, ‘This country has also seen the period of emergency. The country knows how the constitution was crushed, how the spirit of the constitution was trampled for the comforts of power. During emergency, famous film artist Dev Anand ji was asked to publicly support the emergency. But Dev Anand ji refused to do so. Therefore, all the films of Dev Anand ji were banned on Doordarshan.’ PM said, “The word constitution does not suit the mouth of Congress. For the comforts of power, for the arrogance of the royal family, lakhs of families of the country were destroyed, the country was turned into a prison. A very long struggle went on. In the end, those who considered themselves to be very big ‘Tees Maar Khan’ had to accept the power of the people, had to kneel down and the emergency was lifted from the country with the power of the people.” Congress does not trust ‘Sabka Vikas’: PM Prime Minister Modi has again accused the Congress of being nepotistic. He said in the Parliament that Congress did the politics of appeasement and ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’ cannot be expected from it. The PM emphasized that BJP’s development model is ‘Nation First’, while for Congress it is ‘Family First’. The Prime Minister said, “Babasaheb was never considered worthy of Bharat Ratna. The people of this country, the entire society respected the spirit of Babasaheb. But today Congress is forced to say ‘Jai Bhim’.” The PM said, ‘Congress had so much hatred for Babasaheb Ambedkar, there was so much anger in Congress against him that Congress used to get irritated by everything he (Babasaheb) said. All documents of this are available. Due to this anger, what all was not done to defeat Babasaheb in the elections twice.’ PM Modi alleged,
“ Congress had created such a model of politics which was a mix of lies, deceit, corruption, nepotism, appeasement etc. In the Congress model, ‘Family First’ is paramount. Therefore, their policies, speech and behavior have been spent in managing that one thing only.
He further said, “It would be a big mistake to expect ‘Sabka Saath-Sabka Vikas’ from the Congress. This is beyond their thinking and does not even fit in their roadmap. Because when such a big party has become dedicated to one family, then ‘Sabka Saath-Sabka Vikas’ is not possible for them.” Without mentioning the demand for caste census, the Prime Minister accused the government of spreading the poison of casteism. He said, ‘Today efforts are being made to spread the poison of casteism. But for three decades, OBC MPs of all parties in both the houses had been demanding from the governments that the OBC Commission should be given constitutional status, but their demand was rejected. Because perhaps it would not have suited their (Congress) politics at that time.’
For the first time, our government gave 10% reservation to the poor of the general category, inspired by the mantra of ‘Sabka Saath-Sabka Vikas’. That too without any tension and without snatching anything from anyone. When we took this decision, the SC-ST and OBC communities also welcomed it. Narendra Modi, Prime Minister
The Prime Minister said, ‘Today, after getting free from the clutches of Congress, the country is breathing a sigh of relief and is also flying high. Coming out of the Congress’ license raj and its evil policies, we are promoting Make in India.’ He further said, ‘Today the whole world has started recognizing India’s economic potential, today the world is seeing us as a fast-growing country and every Indian is proud of this. We are expanding our economy.’ The PM said, ‘When the country has started on the path of progress, the country is achieving new heights of development, then the role of all of us is very important. Opposition to the government is the nature of democracy, opposition to policies is also the responsibility of democracy. But extreme opposition, extreme pessimism and efforts to shorten the line of others without lengthening one’s own line can become an obstacle in a developed India. We have to get free from it, we have to introspect and brainstorm continuously.’
