Dalits, OTT, Bangladeshi Hindus… know what is the agenda of the Sangh meeting
#News Bureau October 24,2024
The annual All India Executive Board meeting of the RSS is scheduled to be held in Mathura on October 25 and 26 amid the Maharashtra and Jharkhand assembly elections and by-elections in several states. Many important issues will be discussed in the meeting. The agenda for this has already been laid out. By the way, the agenda of the meeting can also be found in the Dussehra speech of RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, but it is reported that contemporary issues like outreach to Dalits before the elections, regulation of content on OTT platforms, Jammu and Kashmir elections, threats to the safety of Hindus in Bangladesh, and the centenary celebrations of the Sangh are some of the issues that will be discussed in the meeting.
The focus of the meeting on outreach to Dalits and social harmony is ahead of the crucial elections in Maharashtra and Jharkhand, where the Congress has once again made the caste census an election issue. Especially the Maharashtra elections are considered to change the politics of the country going forward. In such a situation, it is obvious how important it will be for the Sangh to discuss this issue in the meeting.
Sangh officials say that the agenda of the meeting has already been decided by the Vijayadashami speech of RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat in Nagpur earlier this month and the meeting will discuss how to take forward the issues raised by him.
In the Vijayadashami speech, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat had said that the deep state is working to divide India on the basis of caste and community. Some political parties are helping in this for their own selfish interests. Bhagwat urged the Hindu society to overcome caste differences. Citing the Hindus of Bangladesh, he also appealed to the Hindus of India to forget their caste etc. and unite.
Attacking the diversity of India, Bhagwat said that our differences have become so much that we have divided even our saints and gods. Why should Valmiki Jayanti be celebrated only in Valmiki Colony? Valmiki wrote Ramayana for the entire Hindu society. Therefore, everyone should celebrate Valmiki Jayanti and Ravidas Jayanti together. The entire Hindu community should celebrate all festivals together. We will reach out to the society with this message.’
In his speech, Bhagwat made such a detailed argument for social harmony for the first time after the BJP’s poor performance in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
In the 2024 general election, the BJP got 240 seats and could not form the government on its own, it had to take the support of other parties. After that it was argued that the BJP’s prospects were harmed because a section of Dalits and backwards did not vote for the BJP. Dalits feared that if the BJP’s slogan ‘Abki Baar 400 Paar’ succeeded, it would change the Constitution and end reservation.
Anyway, the agenda of the annual meeting of the Sangh which is going to be held now can be understood from this speech of Bhagwat. A total of 393 RSS officials will attend the meeting.
“The meeting will discuss steps to ensure how society can live together as a coherent unit without falling prey to misinformation,” RSS Prachar Prabhar Sunil Ambekar said on Wednesday, The Indian Express reported. He then talked about the adverse impact of content provided by internet platforms on children and the need for their regulation. That will also be discussed. The main focus of the discussions will basically be on how social harmony can be created… what we have done and what more needs to be done in this direction.
Ambekar said the meeting will also discuss how the Sangh can take the messages of great personalities like Dayanand Saraswati, Birsa Munda, Ahilyabai Holkar and Rani Durgavati to the society. Bhagwat had talked about all these personalities in his speech.
Apart from these issues, the Karyakari Mandal meeting will also discuss the Sangh Shatabdi celebrations in terms of expanding the work of the RSS. The meeting will also discuss celebrating special Vijayadashami festivals in Nagpur and other parts of the country next year.
