#News Bureau February 5,2025
Voting is being held for 70 assembly seats in Delhi on Wednesday, February 5. The ruling AAP aims to win for the third time. BJP wants to make a comeback by any means. The people of Delhi have sent it into exile for a long time. Congress is also trying to regain its foothold.
More than 1.56 crore voters have lined up since 7 am to decide on 699 candidates. This election is being held under tight security amid allegations of corruption, tampering of voter lists, law and order and promises of freebies. Below you can know the latest updates of the election:
After casting his vote, Sandeep Dixit, Congress candidate from New Delhi seat, said, “Being a voter, I have seen which MLA will work in my constituency, which party will form a good government. When I was in the booth, I was just a voter… Voters have made up their mind and people are remembering the women who made Delhi.”
BJP candidate from New Delhi seat Parvesh Verma reached Yamuna Ghat to offer prayers before casting his vote. Verma criticized AAP candidate Arvind Kejriwal for not fulfilling the promises and expressed confidence in BJP’s victory. He said, he (Arvind Kejriwal) had said that he will clean the Yamuna river, but did nothing. I appeal to the people to vote in favor of BJP.
