NEET paper leak: Accused who stole question paper from sealed trunk arrested

CBI has arrested two more people in the NEET UG-2024 paper leak case. One of them is the one who allegedly stole the question paper from the trunk. The accused of theft is Pankaj Kumar alias Aditya, a 2017 batch civil engineer from National Institute of Technology, Jamshedpur.
Pankaj had allegedly stolen the question paper from a sealed trunk in Hazaribagh. PTI reported that Bokaro resident Pankaj Kumar was arrested from Patna. The second accused has been identified as Raju Singh, who allegedly helped Pankaj in stealing the papers and delivering them to other gang members. Raju was arrested from Hazaribagh.
With these two, the total number of people arrested in connection with paper leak, cheating and other irregularities in the medical entrance examination has now reached 14. The investigating agency has registered six FIRs probing alleged irregularities in the examination. The FIR lodged in Bihar pertains to the paper leak, while the FIRs lodged in Gujarat, Rajasthan and Maharashtra pertain to cheating and cheating by candidates.
The CBI had earlier identified Hazaribagh as the origin place of the NEET-UG paper leak. CBI investigation said that this paper was leaked by Oasis School of Hazari Bagh. Also, the seals of two sets of papers that reached there were broken and instead of raising the issue, the school staff remained silent.
According to an NDTV report, a senior official revealed that ‘nine sets of question papers were sent from SBI Hazaribagh to various centres. The seal of the set that reached Oasis School Center was broken. The employees there did not raise any alarm and thus their role was established.
This issue of NEET came to light when for the first time a large number of students topped. After this it came to light that this time grace marks were given at some centers for giving the paper late. Meanwhile, Bihar Police took major action in the paper leak case and arrested some accused.
