Bharatiya Janata Party has suffered a major setback in Uttar Pradesh. It is said that the road to Delhi passes through Lucknow, but Lucknow has put the biggest barrier for Narendra Modi on his way to Delhi. This time in the Lok Sabha elections, PM Modi has faced a crushing defeat in Uttar Pradesh. At the same time, Bharatiya Janata Party has also faced defeat in Faizabad-Ayodhya Lok Sabha seat, which has become the hottest seat of the state.
BJP’s defeat in Ayodhya reminded of the 1993 assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh. At that time, SP founder Mulayam Singh Yadav and Bahujan Samaj Party’s Kashiram had come together in the assembly elections. The slogan echoed in the political arena of UP was, ‘Mile Mulayam Kashiram, Jai Shri Ram flew in the air’.
A similar situation was seen this time. Akhilesh Yadav and Rahul Gandhi came together in the political arena of UP and BJP faced the biggest defeat in the politics of UP in the last decade. SP’s Awadhesh Prasad has made a decisive lead on this seat.
Development did not work in Ayodhya Development in Ayodhya was of no use. After the Lok Sabha elections 2019, a big decision of the Supreme Court came on Ayodhya. After this, PM Narendra Modi came to Ayodhya on 5 August 2020 to lay the foundation stone of Ramlala’s temple. Amidst the threat of Corona, the issue of Ramlala heated up across the country. Ram Lalla was consecrated on 22 January this year.
PM Narendra Modi had come to participate in this ceremony. Along with him, distinguished people from all over the country arrived here. However, no opposition leader came to participate in the program. There was a lot of politics on this. Even after this there was no impact on Faizabad seat.
What were the reasons for BJP’s defeat? Discussion has started on the reasons for BJP’s defeat. BJP was looking confident about winning this seat in the Lok Sabha elections 2024. On the basis of Ram Lalla’s life prestige and the response PM Modi got in Ayodhya, BJP’s victory was considered certain. However, the party could not achieve success. These are the main reasons…
First reason: There was anti-incumbency in the area against Lallu Singh. People were angry about his presence in the area. People’s displeasure with the candidate overwhelmed him. This anger towards the candidate started emerging as a change within the people.
Second reason: The BJP candidate was an MP for 10 consecutive years. Pressure to replace him was also being created by local level leaders. Even after this, BJP did not pay attention to it. Third reason: BJP became a victim of overconfidence here. BJP accepted that instead of the candidate’s face, PM Modi’s face will be used in Ayodhya. This was not successful.
Fourth reason: Lallu Singh was accused of buying land in the area and then selling it at high prices. In fact, after the decision on Ram temple, the issue of buying and selling of land was raised loudly. Great emphasis was laid on this. Fifth reason: BJP was not successful in solving the caste equation. The work of Panna Pramukhs was not completely successful. Akhilesh Yadav succeeded in uniting the backward Dalit minority i.e. PDA on this seat. This became the reason for the defeat of BJP.
Development plans worth crores did not work Development schemes worth crores were completed with the construction of Ramlala temple in Ayodhya. Recently, PM Modi had laid the foundation stone and inaugurated schemes worth Rs 15,700 crore.
The grand railway station has been rebuilt in Ayodhya. Apart from this, international airport is being developed. Along with the Ayodhya Ramlala temple, roads and streets were repaired. But, the people of Ayodhya did not like all this. Deepotsav is being organized in Ayodhya every year on Diwali since 2017. Even these types of events did not have any impact.
