India is immersed in the war of information, where should we go for correct information!Country

“You bring the pictures, I will start the war!” said the famous American media mogul and industrialist William Randolph Hearst at a time when yellow journalism was on the rise. It is also said that Randolph Hearst had started many wars in his lifetime with his sensational journalism. Just like some media houses had almost started one between India and Pakistan in the recent past. An information war had broken out between the air strikes and the continuous blackouts. A war in which Indian journalists had directly ‘occupied Islamabad’, while Pakistani journalists had ‘destroyed the seaport of Patna’. Breaking news! Correct information in the flood of information? Finding a needle in a haystack would probably be an easier task than finding the correct news from the information.

From the destruction of Karachi port to the nuclear leak

Some major Indian TV channels claimed that the Indian army had destroyed the port of Karachi. On one hand, India was being attacked by drones, on the other hand, all the anchors on TV were spreading fake news at the peak of their voices.

In the flavour of nationalism, information was pushed in such a way that the nation itself became stunned. Misinformation had increased so much that the government had to issue an advisory against fake news. Despite all this, the business of this ‘fake news’ has not stopped.

Let us take a recent example. A news is very common that India attacked Kirana Hills where Pakistan has nuclear bases. Now Pakistan is facing problems of radiation. Many right-wing YouTubers and social media influencers are spreading this news on their social media handles. On the YouTube handle of a leading Hindi daily, it is also being said loudly that there are reports of nuclear leak in Pakistan. This information is being linked to India’s attack on some air bases of Pakistan and is being spread in such a way that India has suppressed Pakistan’s tail. It has started radiation there.

India’s official statement
If linked to facts, this information seems to be nothing but a lie. The Indian government has already clarified about the attack on Kirana Hills or Pakistan’s nuclear bases. Air Force Air Marshal Bharti, on being asked about information about nuclear bases in Pakistan, said that “We do not know where Pakistan’s nuclear bases are. As far as the attack on Kirana Hills is concerned, we did not attack there.”

Indian Government itself has denied that any kind of nuclear encounter took place between it and Pakistan or that it was involved in it in any way. Here it is beyond understanding that on which paper plane of nationalism the media channels want to get the credit for Pakistan’s alleged nuclear radiation?

Now let’s talk a little about science. Can nuclear radiation be started by a missile or bomb attack? What does science say about this?

IEEE, the organization of electrical and electronic engineers around the world, says that nuclear missiles are made in a very complex way. There are many types of physical and electronic locks installed in them. They can be activated only through code. This is done so that no one misuses it, nor does it explode suddenly.

Even if it is attacked with a normal bomb, the pressure and heat cannot be generated enough to bombard the nucleus of the nuclear bomb with neutrons and trigger a chain reaction.

Nuclear weapons have fail-safe processes that prevent them from exploding in a wrong way if they are damaged or their chain of explosions is interrupted.

What kind of nationalism is this!

All these facts rule out all possibilities of nuclear leaks starting due to India’s attack on Pakistan. Then who are those people who find it appropriate to spread these rumours in the name of patriotism? Have they forgotten in their desire to destroy Pakistan that giving credit to India for this alleged leak is making the country irresponsible in the eyes of the world? Not only this, the Indian media is being criticized for its fake news.
