BJP has registered a landslide victory in the Delhi Assembly elections. BJP has won 48 seats while AAP has won 22 seats. AAP leaders like Kejriwal, Sisodia also lost the elections. BJP won 48 seats in the 70-member assembly, which is 40 more than the 8 seats in 2020. AAP, which won 62 seats in 2020, was reduced to 22 seats this time. Congress could not open its account again. In the 1998 assembly elections, the Congress won 52 of the 70 seats with a vote share of 47.76% and Sheila Dikshit headed the Congress government in Delhi for 15 years. This reign ended in 2013, when the Congress was reduced to just eight seats, and Sheila Dikshit herself lost to Kejriwal.

In 2015, the Congress suffered a major setback when it failed to open its account and its vote share fell to less than 10%. In the last assembly elections, the party fell even further, getting only 4.26% of the votes. However, top AAP leaders like Arvind Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia and Saurabh Bhardwaj lost in this election. However, Atishi managed to retain her Kalkaji seat. The Raj Niwas Bhawan posted that Delhi Chief Minister Atishi submitted her resignation to Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena on Sunday.

I have won my seat, but this is not the time to celebrate – this is the time to fight. The fight against the BJP dictatorship will continue”. Atishi
