The Bhagmati Express from Mysore to Darbhanga collided with a freight train near Kavaraipettai railway station near Chennai on Friday. Several coaches derailed and two coaches of the express train caught fire. Several people are feared injured in the accident.

Officials said the 12578 Mysore-Darbhanga Express collided with a freight train at Kavaraipettai at 8:50 pm and rescue teams and ambulances were rushed to the spot.
