Delhi Chief Minister Atishi’s belongings were allegedly forcibly removed from her Civil Lines residence. She had moved into the CM residence just two days ago. The Aam Aadmi Party has alleged that the Delhi Chief Minister’s belongings were thrown out of her official residence in Civil Lines on the orders of Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena. The Arvind Kejriwal-led party also claimed that the move is part of the BJP’s plan to occupy the Chief Minister’s official residence.

The ongoing controversy over the occupation of the Delhi Chief Minister’s residence took a new turn when CM Atishi was asked to remove her personal belongings from her Civil Lines house on Wednesday. After this, allegations and counter-allegations started.

Video footage outside 6, Flagstaff Road in Civil Lines shows several boxes and items being taken out of the government residence and a team of the Public Works Department arriving there.

Senior AAP leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh said, “The BJP has been out of power in Delhi for 27 years and as a result, they are allegedly trying to claim the CM’s residence due to their inability to garner electoral support from the public.” Earlier in the day too, Sanjay Singh had alleged that the authorities were not allocating a bungalow to Chief Minister Atishi and her camp office there had also been vacated.

The CM’s residence has been under the scanner for the past one year after the BJP alleged gross irregularities and cost overruns in its construction and renovation. Following this, the vigilance department had initiated a probe and around 10 PWD officials faced disciplinary action and suspension. The Central Bureau of Investigation is also probing the case.
